This fantastic trip begins with you checking in and resting the first night at a hotel in San José and starting the adventure the next day. You will be picked up by the Pachira Lodge bus, which will take you trough some beautiful views at Braulio Carrillo’s National Park. You stop on the way for breakfast and the last part to Tortuguero is by boat through beautiful rivers, canals and lagoons to the Lodge. Here you will get to ride a river boat, hike in the rainforest and visit Tortuguero village.

The next stop is the beautiful Arenal volcano and the volcanic village of La Fortuna where you will stay at the cozy family-owned Monte Real, which is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, shops and with a fantastic view of the volcano. You will get to ride (or drive) to a magnificent waterfall and hike around the volcano before taking the boat over to the mysterious Monteverde Cloud Forest.

In Monteverde, you will stay at a cute mountain hotel in the outskirt of Santa Elena town. You will walk on suspension bridges high above rivers and treetops and through the beautiful cloud rainforest while your guide tells you all about the flora and fauna around you. More than 5% of the world’s species are found here and if you’re lucky you can see rare birds like the magnificent Quetzal.

The next stop on this lovely sloth trip will be the paradise beach in Flamingo, here you stay at Hotel Margaritaville, which is a real tropical paradise. Enjoy a cold drink in the large pool or why not lie in a hammock under the palm trees on the beach. Margaritaville has several restaurants and if you want to try something different, you can easily walk to the restaurants and Flamingo Marina, which is located in Flamingo. If you don’t want to rest like the lazy sloth would do, you can take a day and go deep-sea fishing, go on a sunset sail trip, dive or go on a snorkeling excursion.
